Secret Key Snail Repairing Sunscreen Review (SPF50+/PA+++)
So happy to finally write up a Secret Key Snail Repairing Sunscreen Review. It’s a frequently requested product review on the 5 Asian Beauty Finds: The Best Sunscreens for Oily Skin post. It’s not included in that list, but it is definitely a top 10 sunscreen product.
I’m always having issues with dryness and oil (thanks to my combination skin), and I’m extremely sensitive to snail mucin. Depending on the product, my skin will not tolerate snail mucin and other humectant moisturizers at once. My skin breaks out into red splotches and leaves behind a dry, rough patch of skin when I have a reaction.
I was a little worried to try this Secret Key Snail Repairing Sunscreen because I didn’t know if I would have a bad reaction.

Secret Key Snail Repairing Sunscreen Review
Price: $11 on Amazon
Fragrance: Licorice-like, light and fades rapidly
Skin effect: Helps look of damage and redness
Pros: Calms down irritated or damaged skin, affordable
Cons: Smell is slightly unpleasant; oil production high a few hours in for oily/combination skin
The first time I tried Secret Key, I was not impressed. The Secret Key Starting Treatment Essence didn’t give me any obvious results at all. I still went through the bottle and didn’t expect to try this brand again.
I wasn’t expecting to like Secret Key Snail Repairing Sunscreen either, but I did. Here’s why:
Snail Secretion Filtrate
Snail secretion is known to calm irritated skin and give moisture. It does this because snail secretions can quicken healing of wounded or damaged skin. If your skin is dry and damaged, or if you have some acne and redness it will calm your skin down. It also preps your skin well before applying make up.
Apply the sunscreen and then wait a few minutes before applying make up so that it can absorb and start to work. Keep in mind, this isn’t a miracle sunscreen – it will slightly improve redness and damage.
Smooth texture and easy application
Creamy and smooth texture glides easily on skin. It comes out of the bottle easily with no sputters. It also blends into your skin very well, leaving no white residue behind.
Also, Secret Key Snail Repairing Sunscreen is not a matte sunscreen. So after a few hours, you will notice oil build up. There is low oil production in the first few hours of use, but depending on your skin type (combination or oily), it could get pretty oily after that.
I suggest using a sebum controlling powder when you’re done with your make up application and a fixer to help set this sunscreen.
Directions for Secret Key Snail Repairing Sunscreen:
1. Apply to prepped face by patting all over face, paying attention to hairline and nose.
2. Reapply every 50 minutes of sun exposure.
Tip: Don’t use any snail mucin moisturizer with this if you have a snail sensitivity.
